Don Smith

November 11, 1950 — November 22, 2020

Don C. “Smoke Dog” Smith, 70, of Machesney Park passed away Sunday, November 22, 2020, in Swedish American Hospital. Born November 11, 1950, in Trumann, AR, the son of Harold L. and Louise (Parks) Smith. Married Carolyn Biggs and they enjoyed 30 years together. Don was a kind man that always helped others. He was a creative jack-of-all-trades that could fix anything. He loved working on cars and electrical stuff, cooking, watching wrestling and western movies, and riding his bike everywhere. Don enjoyed working outside and was even splitting wood with his stepson two weeks before he passed. Survivors include his wife, Carolyn; stepson, Adam; stepdaughter, Heather; grandchildren, Summer, Hailyn, Timothy, and one on the way; sister-in-law, Sherry; nieces, Cherish, Celeste and Amanda; nephews, Chad, Buddy, Billy and Devin; best friends, Mike and Mikey; and furry companions, Bella, Zoey, and Midnight. Predeceased by his grandmother; father; mother; stepfather; and two brothers. Special thanks to Ebonee Locke, RN, Joan Osterberger, RN, Alyssa Dobbs, RN, Dr. Chaudhry and all of the Swedish American 3rd Floor Staff.
