Diane Grace Robinson, of Rockford, IL, a devoted gardener, bird lover, enthusiastic traveler, and lifelong Chicago Cubs fan, passed away on January 16, 2025, at the age of 71. Born August 4, 1953, in Rockford, the daughter of Keith and Barbara (Leak) Robinson.
Diane had a passion for cultivating life, whether in her garden filled with vibrant blooms or through the relationships she nurtured with her family and friends. Her love for birds brought her great joy, as she delighted in watching them visit her feeders and fill her days with their songs. Summers at the lake were among her happiest times, where she found peace in the gentle waves, sunsets, and the company of loved ones.
Weekends were often spent treasure hunting at estate sales, auctions, or shopping trips, always followed by lunch outings filled with laughter and stories. As a true Cubs fan, one of her greatest joys was watching the Cubs win the World Series in 2016 alongside her beloved nephew, Nolan - a cherished memory she held close to her heart.
Her love for Christmas was legendary, marked by baking delicious Christmas cookies that filled the air with warmth and cheer, decorating Christmas trees with sparkling ornaments, and wrapping packages so beautifully they were almost too lovely to open. Her family and friends will forever remember her kindness, laughter, and the love she brought to every holiday, summer day, and special outing. She leaves behind a legacy of love, beautiful memories, and a garden that will forever be filled with the sound of birdsong.
The family wishes to extend their heartfelt thanks to the staff at Alpine Fireside Healthcare Center for the exceptional care provided by the nurses and CNAs.
Diane is survived by her sisters, Marie Nighswonger and Barbara Robinson; sister-in-law, Tammy Robinson; nieces, Tara Hoover and Jennifer Nighswonger; nephews, Keith Robinson, Justin Nighswonger, Nolan Robinson, and Devon Strickland; many grandnephews and grandnieces.
