Diana “Di” L. Bowden, 73, of Loves Park, IL, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 21, 2022, after a short illness. Born March 25, 1949, in Rockford, IL, the daughter of Vern and Margaret L. (Bombard) Hulbert, Jr. Graduated from West High School, Class of 1967. Married John Paul Bowden, on August 31, 1968, in Rockford. Employed by Rockford Public Schools for more than 20 years. Member of Beth Eden United Methodist Church. Di loved spending time with her grandchildren and celebrating with her family. She enjoyed reading, time on the river, and shopping. Christmas was her favorite holiday. Survivors include her husband, John Paul; sons, John Brent (Laura) Bowden, and William “Bill” (Tricia) Bowden; grandchildren, Jordan (Erika) Bowden, Paige (Ruben) Hernandez, Rylie Bowden, Noah Bowden, Sydney Bowden, and Alexandra Bowden; great-grandchildren, Logan, Hazel, Axel, Grady, and Enzo; sister, JoAnn “Jo” Handt; numerous nieces and nephews; loving companions, Rocco, and Aliya. Predeceased by her parents. The family wishes to thank the CCU nurses and Swedish American Health.
A Celebration of Life will be at a later date. Cremation rites accorded. Arrangements by Delehanty Funeral Home, 401 River Lane, Loves Park.
