Dennis Gene Prouty, 84, of Rockford, IL, was called home Thursday, July 11, 2024. Born March 11, 1940, in Vienna, SD, the son of Edmund and Mary (Satterness) Prouty. Married Judith R. Crabb on July 24, 1960, in Huron, SD. Employed by Chrysler Corporation for 30 years, retiring in 1997. Member of UAW, Local 1268. Avid Chicago Cubs fan. Dennis enjoyed camping, fishing, bird watching, and country music. Survivors include his wife, Judy; son, Timothy (Linda) Prouty of Machesney Park, IL; daughter, Karen Neubauer of Rockford; 9 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; sisters, Darlene (Gerould) Iverson of Worthington, MN, Sharon (Randy) Haase of Omaha, NB, and Dixie Thorp of Yakima, WA; many nieces and nephews; and loving cat, Amber. Predeceased by his parents; and son, Bruce A. Prouty.

A Celebration of Life will be from 1 to 3 p.m. Satuday, August 24, 2024, at Loves Park City Hall, 100 Heart Blvd., Loves Park, IL. Cremation rites accorded. Arrangements by Delehanty Funeral Home, 401 River Lane, Loves Park. In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established.
