Dennis W. Cadwell, 77, of Loves Park, IL, passed away on Tuesday, March 26, 2024, at Amberwood Care Centre. Born June 26, 1946, in Rockford, IL, the son of William H. and Edith E. (Carlson) Cadwell. Veteran of the U.S. Army. He married Pamela “Pam” Braaten on July 1, 1967. Employed by Local 150 for more than 25 years, Rockford Blacktop and other construction companies until his retirement. Dennis formerly drove for Delehanty Ambulance. Member of Grace Lutheran Church, Shriners, and Loves Park VFW. Also, member of many clubs over the years including the Lombardi Club, Lyron Club, and the Moose Club. Avid NASCAR fan. Dennis enjoyed gardening, yard work, putzing around in the garage, and collecting hats. He loved being with family, especially with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was known for his dad jokes. Survivors include his wife, Pam; daughters, Dawn (Tim) Wilson, Jennifer (Brian) Rice, and Lori (Zach) Braun; grandchildren, Drew (Hailee) Wilson, Arica (Steven) Moxley, Kyle (Abbey) Wilson, Corey (Ashleigh) Rice, Kayla (Danny) Amparano, Taylor Braun, and Brooke Dodson; 8 great-grandchildren. Predeceased by his parents; parents-in-law, Oliver and Eva Braaten; sister, Mary Sue Willard; and niece, Kimberly Timmerman-Sells.

Memorial visitation from noon to 2 p.m. Thursday, April 4, 2024, at Delehanty Funeral Home, 401 River Lane, Loves Park. Inurnment in Sunset Memorial Gardens.
