Delayne, known to many by her nickname, “Tim”, was born on October 24, 1936, in Big Rapids, Michigan, to Lyle and Genieve (Strang) Montague. She graduated from West High School in 1954. On April 14, 1956, in Rockford, IL, she married the love of her life, Jack Marsh.
A devoted follower of Jesus Christ, Delayne “Tim” lived a life full of faith and compassion. She found great joy in her role as a mom, grandma, and great-grandma. She was passionate about caring for children and spent 25 years running a daycare, loving those children as well.
Delayne is survived by her children, Jeff (Susan) Marsh, Jonna (Mark) Adolphson, Jared Marsh, and Joel (Catherine) Marsh; her grandchildren, Taylor (Anthony) Tuggle, Tyler (Shara) Marsh, Maxwell Adolphson, Courtney (Andrew) Eckhoff, Dori Marsh, Sarah Marsh, and Emmett Marsh; and her great-grandchildren, Alaina, Liam, and Lucas. She is also survived by her sisters-in-law, Jill (Dale) Gesner, Marlys Marsh; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jack; and brother-in-law, Roger Marsh.
She will be deeply missed and forever remembered for the way she touched the lives of others.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, April 15, 2025, at Central Christian Church, 6595 Guilford Road, Rockford, IL, with a visitation from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Arrangements by Delehanty Funeral Home, 401 River Lane, Loves Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Salvation Army or the Rockford Rescue Mission in her memory.
