Deforest "Frosty" Eggert

DeForest R. "Frosty" Eggert, 81, of Machesney Park passed away Wednesday, February 1, 2017, in his home. Born July 18, 1935, in Harvard, the son of Gustave and Marcella (Natzke) Eggert.  Veteran of Korea, proudly serving in the U.S. Marine Corps.  Married Violet Getter on October 19, 1974, in Rockford.  Retired from Southern Imperial and formerly employed by W.I. Canteen for many years.  Former commandant of the Marine Corps League and honorary commandant for the Department of the Illinois Marine Corps League.  Member of Clifford E. Johnson, Post 9759.  Survivors include his wife; children, Jerry (Sara) Trickie, David (Denise) Eggert, Reneé (Rick) Boyle, Crystal Eggert, Bambi (Jason) Teran, Amber (Brian) Broege and Jon (Stephanie) Eggert; grandchildren, Devin, Breanna, Jocelynn, Brandon, Cody, Kylee, Jordyn, Chandler, Jaylin, Raelyn, Brenden, Bentley and Aiden; brother-in-law, Ed Getter; several nieces and nephews.  Predeceased by his parents; a brother; and a sister.

Service at 1 p.m. Saturday, February 4, in Delehanty Funeral Home, Ltd., 401 River Lane, Loves Park, with visitation from 11 a.m. to service time. Entombment in Sunset Memorial Gardens.
