David Paul Fulling, 82, of Rockford, IL, passed away Friday, March 22, 2024, in his home. Born October 30, 1941, in Rockford, the son of Clyde C. and Adeline M. (Cichella) Fulling. Graduated from St. Thomas High School and Northern Illinois University. Veteran of the U.S. Army, serving from 1966 to 1968. He married Mary “Molly” Elizabeth Mullin on January 31, 1970, in Rockford. Employed by the Harlem School District for 36 years, retiring in 1999. Member of St. Bridget Catholic Church, YMCA, USTA, and Boylan Tennis Center. Survivors include his wife, Molly; children, Paul (Georgina) Fulling, Kate (Bill) O’Donnell, Dan (Laurel) Fulling, and Mary “Maggie” Fulling; grandchildren, Fiona and Jack Fulling, Oliver, Elliott, Adeline, and Iggy O’Donnell, Fletcher, Gideon, Gus, Zeke, and Beau Fulling; siblings, John (Nina) Fulling, Beverly Franklin, Teresa (Randy) Roberts, and Peter (Sherry) Franklin; numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents; adoptive father, Warren Franklin; grandmother, Mary Cichella; siblings, Sylvia J. Hosking, Charles Franklin, and Ingrid Amberg.
Memorial visitation from 4 to 6 p.m. Friday, April 5, 2024, at Delehanty Funeral Home, 401 River Lane, Loves Park, IL, with Rosary recited at 5:45 p.m. Memorial mass at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, April 6, 2024, at St. Bridget Catholic Church, 600 Clifford Ave., Loves Park, with visitation from 9:30 a.m. to service time in the church. Private inurnment at a later date in Calvary Catholic Cemetery, Winnebago, IL. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Carpenter’s Place.
