David Conover

David W. Conover, 91, of Rockford passed away Tuesday, December 28, 2021, at home surrounded by family.  Born September 23, 1930, in Rockford, the son of Charles and Margaret (Davidson) Conover.  Married Joan Pahl on February 27, 1953, in Dubuque, Iowa.  Employed by Rockford Housing Authority for more than 25 years, retiring in 1997.  David was a Champion Golden Gloves Boxer.  He was an expert tree trimmer, well into his 80’s.  David was a natural athlete.  Survivors include his wife, Joan; sons, Byron Conover, Ian (Roxanne) Conover, and Darren Conover; grandchildren, Sarah (Peter) Grande, Jacob Conover, David Conover, Mallory Conover, Natalie (Tony) Del Pra, and Spencer Conover; great-grandchildren, Olivia, Isabelle, Madeline, Riley, and Sienna; sisters, Margaret Harris and Elayne De Van; brother, Gordon Conover; numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorial service at 2 p.m. Thursday, January 6, 2022, in Delehanty Funeral Home, Ltd., 401 River Lane, Loves Park, with visitation from 1 p.m. to service time.
