David Denzil Ames

David Denzil Ames, 71, of Davis Junction, IL, passed away on Sunday, March 22, 2026, at Alden Park Strathmoor. He was born on Monday, March 7, 1955, in La Crosse, WI, the son of Gerald G. and Loretta J. (Peterson) Ames. He married Mona Taylor on August 16, 1984, in Rockford, IL. David was a self-employed contractor for many years. Member of The Grove Fellowship. Survivors include his wife, Mona; daughters, Heather (Ricky) Gomez of Rockford, IL, Sarah (Vic Sadewater) Ames of Machesney Park, IL, Brooks (Corey) Carter of Davis Junction, IL; sons, Michael LaRue of Rockford, IL, and Adam (Lindsey) Ames of Machesney Park, IL; grandchildren, Joey (Caitlyn) Macias, Constance Ames, Olivia Gomez, Caden Lee, Mason Carter, Roman Carter, Peyton Carter, Cohen Sadewater, and Camdynn Sadewater; great-grandchildren, April, Cavari, and Cambryelle; sister, Chris Ames. Predeceased by his parents; sisters, Ricki Mondon and Carin Demus; and brother, Gregory Ames.
