Darlene Eileen Winters, 81,of Rockford passed away at 8:11 p.m. Friday, June 7, 2019. Born August 6, 1937, in Rockford, daughter of Arnold and Evelyn (Glawe) Schwengels. Married Franklin Winters on December 2, 1978. Formerly employed by Walter Lawson Children’s Home. Member of Cathedral Baptist Church. She enjoyed sewing, tending her plants and traveling, especially to visit her brother in California. She tolerated her kids but loved her grandkids, great-grandkids and her grand pups. Survivors include sons, John (Ginger) Neubauer, Bill (Kim) Neubauer, David (Teresa Rowe) Neubauer and Mark (Pam) Neubauer; daughters, Pam (Bob) Heaton and Paula (Joe) Harty; 13 grandchildren, Shaun (Ginger) Neubauer, Shannon (Henric) Nance, Cory, Kevin and Daniel Neubauer, Joshua (Emily) Neubauer, Rob Heaton, Heidi (fiancé, Danny) Heaton, Justin (Tasha) Heaton, Brittany (Ryan) Mitchell, Breanna (Brian) Andersen, Cierra Neubauer and Hunter Harty; 14 great-grandchildren, Audrey, Aidan and Ashton Neubauer, Madilyn and Brynlee Nance, Alivia, Ella and Jack Neubauer, Allie, Payton, Ellie, Evalyn and Emma Heaton and Masen Neubauer; sister, Shirley (Tom) Maas; niece, Laura (Oliver) Grass; nephew, Geoff Prentice; and stepson, Kenneth Winters. Predeceased by her loving husband, Frank; brother, Robert Schwengels; close friend, Christopher; and good friend, Mary Castle. Service at 1 p.m. Wednesday, June 12, in Delehanty Funeral Home, Ltd., 401 River Lane, Loves Park, with visitation from 11 a.m. to service time. Burial in Winnebago Cemetery.
