Darlene B. McLean, 86, of Machesney Park, IL, passed away peacefully Friday, September 8, 2023. Born November 5, 1936, in Fairfield, IL, the daughter of Wesley E. and Evelyn (Farmer) Simms. Married Raymond F. McLean on August 23, 1952, in Freeport, IL. Employed as a waitress by Mayflower, Hoffman House, Wagon Wheel, Sweden House and Magna. Member of St. Bridget Catholic Church, Loves Park, IL. She enjoyed cooking, crocheting, and was an avid reader. Darlene enjoyed visiting her daughter, Raelene in Panama City, FL. Survivors include her sons, Michael (Joy) McLean of Roscoe, and Wesley McLean of Rockford, IL; grandchildren, Sandy (Allen) Mocco, Melanie (Ralph) Fetterly, Donna (Jamie) Ketchum, Karley (Chris) Kramer, and Vincent McLean; great-grandchildren, Veronica McLean, Jaxon Ketchum, and Dani Raelynn Kramer; sisters, Ann Harwood, and Joyce Mershon; brother-in-law, Steve Banaszak; sisters-in-law, Jean Barganz, and Joan Murray; several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents; husband, Raymond F. McLean; daughter, Raelene Ann McLean; son Mark McLean; granddaughter, Candace Everhart; brother, Gene Simms; and sisters, Wilma Burrows, and Ruthie Simms.
As per her request there are no services. Cremation rites accorded. Inurnment at a later date in Calvary Catholic Cemetery, Winnebago, IL. Arrangements by Delehanty Funeral Home, 401 River Lane, Loves Park.
