Darlene Estabrook

Darlene G. Estabrook, 91, of Loves Park passed away Thursday, April 22, 2021, in Javon Bea Hospital.  Born September 23, 1929, in Rockford, the daughter of Jay and Clara (Maxwell) Swisher.  Married Jerome D. “J.D.” Estabrook on April 29, 1949, in Rockford.  Employed by Woodward Governor for 20 years.  Member of Grace Lutheran Church.  She was a sports fanatic, especially an avid Cubs fan.  Darlene loved reading and mystery novels.  Survivors include her daughters, Gayle (Bill) Dredge and Susan Estabrook; son, Scott Estabrook; grandchildren, Joseph Dredge, Catherine Dredge, Jay Estabrook, Mark Widup, Thomas Jerome “T.J.” Estabrook and Daniel Estabrook; and her dog, Max.  Predeceased by her parents and husband.

Graveside service at 1 p.m. Monday, May 3, 2021, in Sunset Memorial Gardens, 8800 North Alpine Road, Machesney Park.  In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Harlem Scholarship Fund.  Arrangements by Delehanty Funeral Home, Ltd., 401 River Lane, Loves Park.
