Darla Hulmes

March 14, 1950 — February 15, 2018

Darla J. Hulmes, 67, of Rockford passed away Thursday, February 15, 2018, in Kindred Hospital, Sycamore. Born March 14, 1950, in Rockford, the daughter of Eli and Hazel (Pierce) Showers.  Married Raymond Hulmes.  Darla loved bingo, car rides, family gatherings and cookouts at the park.  She was a big Elvis fan, loved cats, weekend getaways and day trips.  Darla enjoyed walks and going to the duck pond.  She loved going to the donut shop for friends and conversation.  Survivors include her husband, Raymond; children, Debbie (Bob) Anderson, Sandy (Scott) Leek and Fred Hulmes; grandchildren, Justin, Christopher, Brian, Shannon, Holley, Connor and Khallie; great-grandchildren, Dixie, Xander and Donaven; cat, Mittens; sister, Flora Mae Irwin; brother, Carl Amacher; nephews, Gary, Fred and Michael; niece, April.  Predeceased by her grandson, Cale Werner Hulmes.

Service at 11 a.m. Friday, March 2, in Delehanty Funeral Home, Ltd., 401 River Lane, Loves Park, with visitation from 10 a.m. to service time. Burial in Sunset Memorial Gardens.
