Dallas Shane Smith, 53, of Machesney Park, IL, passed away on Friday, April 28, 2023. Born March 24, 1970, in Rockford, IL, the son of Dallas and Linda (Lindquist) Smith. He attended Harlem High School, graduating in 1988. Before he became disabled, Dallas was employed as an iron worker for Local 498 of Rockford, IL. He was an avid Dallas Cowboy fan and lover of all things Ozzy! In his spare time, Dallas loved to listen to loud music and play on his “toys” which included riding his Harley, four-wheelers, snowmobiles, or driving his ‘77 Camaro that he purchased between his Jr. and Sr. year of high school. Survivors include his sons, Dallas (Carla) Smith and Taylor (Annie) Smith; grandson, Cameron Smith; the mother of his sons, Carol Smith-Rebelak; parents, Dallas and Linda Smith; beloved and dedicated sister, Corrina Smith; grandma, Maggie; uncles, Tommy, Steve (Mary), and Ike (Della); aunts, Rhonda and Pam; nieces, Ashley (Nick), Abby, Kayla (Brandon), and Violet; mother-in-law, Frances; girlfriend, Diana Huffman; lifelong friends, John, Tony, Tracy, Troy, Mel, Tommy P., Robert, Chris, Jim E. to name a few, and Brian and Aaron, and all the friends along the way; beloved cousin, Jason Hargraves; godparents, Forrest and Leeanna Hargraves, and Hargraves boys; many more cousins and family. Predeceased by his loving grandparents, Tom and Violet Smith and Florence and Emery Lindquist; great-aunt, Jannette; father-in-law, Vern; friend, Kenny; cousin, Troy “Troyboy”; and his dogs, Chief and Hanya! You will be dearly missed “Shaneyboy”.

Service at 7 p.m. Friday, May 5, 2023, at Delehanty Funeral Home, 401 River Lane, Loves Park, IL, with visitation from 5 p.m. to service time. Cremation rites accorded. In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established.
