Dale Kennedy

July 8, 1951 — December 31, 2017

Dale Kennedy, 66, of Loves Park passed away Sunday, December 31, 2017, in his home, after a long brave fight with lung cancer. Dale was born July 8, 1951, in Statesville, NC, the son of Archie and Hattie Rose (Levan) Kennedy.  Married Melinda Moore on August 27, 2001.  Formerly employed Patterson Gear.  He formerly owned a custom woodworking shop.  Active member of First United Church of God, where he was on the executive board.  Dale had a passion for playing guitar and fishing.  Survivors include his loving wife, Melinda; daughter, Michelle Kennedy; granddaughter, Brianna Kennedy; stepson, Aaron Criblez of Potomac; sister, Linda (James) Hayes of Rockford; many nieces and nephews; and loving cousin, Brenda (Tony) Cook of North Carolina.  Predeceased by his parents; sisters, Ada Fern Williford and Donna Kay Kennedy; and brother, Ted Hollar.  Many thanks to Northern Illinois Hospice, his church, Pastor Clarence Christiansen and to all of his family and friends.  May Dale rest in peace without pain and join his heavenly family.

Service at 11 a.m. Friday, January 5, 2018, in Delehanty Funeral Home, Ltd., 401 River Lane, Loves Park, with visitation from 10 a.m. to service time. Burial in Arlington Memorial Park.
