Dale E. “The Hawk” Anderson, 80, of Loves Park was called home Thursday, December 19, 2019, in SwedishAmerican Hospital, surrounded by his family. Born March 19, 1939, in Machesney Park, the son of Einar G. and Wealtha C. (Breit) Anderson. Attended East High School. Married Larch M. Odegaard. Employed as a police officer by the Rockford Police Department for 27 years. Member of the Lombardi Club. He loved fishing, hunting, tinkering in the garage and his furry friends. Dale was an avid Seattle Seahawk fan. He was a loving husband and father. Survivors include his wife, Larch of Loves Park; daughter, Lisa (Marty) Whitmore of Missoula, Montana; grandsons, Connor and Riley; sister, June Siler of Loves Park; many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents; and siblings, Pearl Breit, Janice Rehm, Dorothy Ramczyk and Ivan Anderson. The family wishes to thank the amazing staffs at the University of Wisconsin Madison Hospital and SwedishAmerian Hospital. Also, a very special thanks to Steven Erb for his lifelong friendship.
Celebration of Life at 11 a.m. Sunday, December 29, at the Lombardi Club, 209 Olive Street, Rockford. In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established. Arrangements by Delehanty Funeral Home, Ltd., of Loves Park.
