Constance "Connie" Baxter

Constance “Connie” L. Baxter, 79, of Winnebago, passed away Saturday, June 10, 2017. Born September 8, 1937, in Rockford, the daughter of Stanley E. and Phyllis M. (Lundin) Pagles.  Married Robert E. Baxter on August 20, 1955, in New Milford.  Employed by Harlem School District for over 20 years, retiring in 2001.  Member of GPS Faith Community Church.  Connie was a member of the Ski Broncs Waterski Show Team with her family and was later inducted into the Hall of Fame.  She was also the bat girl for the Rockford Peaches.  Survivors include sons, Wade E. Baxter and Ward E. (Jackie) Baxter; daughter, Wanda L. (Alan) Cwiklo; grandchildren, Jerel (Shelley Wagner) Folts, Zared Folts, Zachary (Tiffani) Blackwell, Tyler and Cameron Baxter, Molly and Madeline Cwiklo and Garrett Baxter; great-grandchildren, Brennan Folts and Declan and Rowen Blackwell; brother, Carl (Kathy) Pagles; niece, Heather (Holly) Sebesta; nephew, Wes (Lena) Pagles; special pets, Baxter and Elsie.  Predeceased by her husband.  Family wishes to thank OSF Hospice, Sue Yetterberg and the staff at Nelson Debes.

Memorial service at 6 p.m. Wednesday, July 5, in GPS Faith Community Church, 10714 N. 2nd Street, Machesney Park, with visitation from 4 p.m. to service time. In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established.  Arrangements by Delehanty Funeral Home, Ltd., 401 River Lane, Loves Park.
