Conrad “Patrick” Cantu, III

Conrad “Patrick” Cantu, III, of Rockford, IL, passed away Sunday, July 9, 2023, in his home. Born March 17, 1987, in Rockford, the son of Conrad and Janice (Corey) Cantu. Previously employed by Southern Imperial and Magna, but he was most proud of his work as a manufacturing engineer at Bergstrom. Patrick loved being outdoors and tubing on local rivers. He enjoyed playing video games, shooting pool, cannabis, going to Six Flags, taking road trips, and attending races at the Rockford Speedway. Patrick was a talented DJ performing under the name DJ CCC. He loved holidays, especially the Fourth of July because of shooting off fireworks. Most of all, he loved spending time with friends, family, and his children. Survivors include his mother, Janice Cantu; the love of his life, Xena Maldonado; daughter, Marieyah Cantu; son, Conrad Apollo Cantu, IV; aunts, Judy (Alan) Chemello, Marie Castillo, Patricia Herbig, and Rose (Jeff) Peterson; many cousins including, John Castillo, Ignacio “Nacho” Castillo, Isabelle Nolasko, and David (Dylana) Corey and their children, Brian, Jaye, and Josh; and several loving friends. Predeceased by his father, Conrad Cantu.

Memorial service at 1 p.m. Saturday, July 29, 2023, at Calvary Memorial Church, 2715 North Alpine Road, Rockford, with visitation from noon to service time. Cremation rites accorded. Graveside inurnment following services will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens, 8800 North Alpine Road, Machesney Park, IL. Arrangements by Delehanty Funeral Home, 401 River Lane, Loves Park, IL.
