Clayton Leroy Johnson, 78, of Rockford passed away August 2, 2021, in Cleveland, TN, surrounded by family. Born August 19, 1942, in Wyandotte, MI, the son of Ralph and Betty (Olson) Johnson. U.S. Navy veteran. Married Judy K. Allen on February 9, 1963, in Belvidere. Formerly employed by Elco and retired from Specialty Screw. Member of the Corvette Club. He enjoyed traveling, family get-togethers and loved his Corvette. Clayton was a jack of all trades, making home improvements and working in his yard. He loved the NASCAR races. Clayton was a kind man, family oriented, loving father, and grandfather. He touched everyone’s life that knew him, he will be truly missed. Survivors include his children, Michele (Chris) Antczak, Kimberly Horton and Richard Allen; grandchildren, Richard, Drew, Jessica, Michael, Richard, Andrew, Christian, Joseph, Nicholas and Kristina; many great-grandchildren, nephews and a niece. Predeceased by his parents; wife; daughter, Christie Johnson; grandson, Brian Johnson; brother, Ralph Johnson; and sister, Debbie DeMars.
Memorial service at 2 p.m. Saturday, August 21, 2021, in Delehanty Funeral Home, Ltd., 401 River Lane, Loves Park, with memorial visitation from 1 p.m. to service time. Cremation rites are accorded. In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established.
