Clarence "Vern" Bucey, Sr.

Clarence “Vern” L. Bucey, Sr., 85, of Loves Park passed away Sunday, February 18, 2018. Born August 12, 1932, in Rockford, the son of James C. and Mildred A. (Carlson) Bucey.  Veteran of the U.S. Navy.  Married Sally Medearis on January 5, 1952.  Employed by Sundstrand Corp. for 44 years, retiring in 1996, and served as financial secretary for the UAW Local 592.  Member of Concordia Lutheran Church since 1961.  Survivors include his wife, Sally; daughter, Sheila (Darrell) Utech; sons, Clarence “Vern” Bucey, Jr., and James (Kirsten) Bucey; son-in-law, Russ Crowell; 10 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren.  Predeceased by his parents; and daughter, Anne Crowell.  Special thanks to the nurses and staff on Dove wing at River Bluff Nursing Home.

Service at 1:30 p.m. Friday, February 23, in Delehanty Funeral Home, Ltd., 401 River Lane, Loves Park, with visitation from 12:30 p.m. to service time. Burial in Willwood Burial Park.  In lieu of flowers, memorials to Concordia Lutheran Church.
