Clara Perkins

Clara B. Perkins, 88, of Loves Park passed away Monday, January 18, 2021, in Machesney Park.  Born August 15, 1932, in Cowden, the daughter of Grover Cleveland and Beulah (Frye) Deal.  Married Buddie D. Perkins on August 1, 1953.  Clara enjoyed gardening, flowers, and fishing at the cabin.  She loved animals, especially dogs.  Clara enjoyed gambling, especially scratch off tickets.  She loved her sisters, nieces, nephews, and grandchildren.  Survivors include her children, William Perkins, Shonnie (Jim) DiGiovanni and Brian (Kimberly) Perkins; grandchildren, Jessica (Paul) Lepien, Tiffany (Jamie) Barone and Phillip DiGiovanni; great-grandchildren, Anthony Lepien, Katie Lepien and Giovanna Barone; siblings, Jean Hackenberg, Rose Dolezelak and Valeta Ferguson; numerous nieces and nephews; and special neighbor, Kelly.  Predeceased by her husband, Buddie; and brothers, John and Roger.  Special thanks to her home helper, Karen and to OSF Hospice for their loving care.

Memorial walk through visitation from 3 to 5 p.m. Friday, January 22, 2021, in Delehanty Funeral Home, Ltd., 401 River Lane, Loves Park.  Social distancing and face coverings required.  In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established.
