Christopher “Chris” E. Kohout, 69, of Geneseo passed away unexpectedly Sunday, February 4, 2018. Born February 18, 1948, in Lincoln, Nebraska, the son of Benjamin and Sharon (Haley) Kohout. Veteran of the U.S. Navy as an aviator and a patrol plane commander. Married Linda Fosler on March 28, 1970, in Omaha, Nebraska. Employed by Baxter Health Care for 26 years, retiring in 2010. He loved spending time with family, especially his grandchildren who called him "Popo". Chris was an avid Nebraska Cornhusker and Chicago Cubs fan. He enjoyed the outdoors and yardwork. Survivors include his wife, Linda; children, Matthew (Michele) Kohout, Kerry (William) Beckett and Andrew (Lacey) Kohout; grandchildren, Darrell, Kyle, Alex, Lexi, Brant, Cody, Owen, Mya, Caen, Logan and Max; brother, Kimball (Christine) Kohout; mother-in-law, Helen Fosler; sisters-in-law, Pamela (Will) Rosenthal and Holly (William) Ballou; several nieces and nephews; loving dog, Broderick “Bob”; and his friends at Baxter. Predeceased by his parents; and father-in-law, Merle Fosler.
Service at 3 p.m. Saturday, February 10, in Delehanty Funeral Home, Ltd., 401 River Lane, Loves Park, with visitation from 2 p.m. to service time. In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established.
