Christa Winquist

Christa M. Winquist, 94, of Rockford passed away Sunday, March 28, 2021.  Born March 18, 1927, in Breslau, Germany, the daughter of Fridrich and Anna (Bohm) Wittwer.  Married Ralph C. Winquist on January 1, 1977, in Las Vegas, Nevada.  She enjoyed feeding all the neighborhood animals.  Survivors include her daughter, Karen (Frank) Finch of Byron; grandchildren, Christa Calvin of Rockton, Tracy Early of Byron, Christopher (Kathryn) Finch of Libertyville and Kari (David) Darnall of Wauconda; great-grandchildren, David (Amy) Pender, Kassidy Goss, Reid Goss, Gavin Early, Andrew Finch, Hope Finch, Ella Darnall and Adalyn Darnall; great-great-grandchildren, Landon Pender and Elliot Pender; several nieces and nephews; her loving feline, Kitty Cat.  Predeceased by her parents; husband, Ralph; sisters, Ursala and Grete; brothers, Rudolf, Alfons, Georg, and Fritz; and grandson, Scott Hess.  Special thanks to the staff at Lincolnshire Place and Transitions Hospice for their loving care.

Services will be private with burial in Scandinavian Cemetery.  Memorials may be given to Winnebago County Animal Services Auxiliary, 4517 North Main Street, Rockford, IL 61103.  Arrangements by Delehanty Funeral Home, Ltd., 401 River Lane, Loves Park.
