Chris H. Johnson, 94, of Rockford passed away Tuesday, May 23, 2017, in Fair Oaks Health Care Center. Born November 14, 1922, in Rockford, the son of John and Anna (Roach) Johnson. Married June M. Polhill on November 8, 1952, in Freeport. Member of the International Operating Engineers Local 150 and employed by Area Erectors for more than 25 years. Current member of Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd and the Woodworking Club. Chris enjoyed woodworking and created detailed wooden toys. Survivors include daughter, Krisan (John) Smith of Rockton; sons, Steven (Julie) Johnson of Loves Park and Randal (Deborah) Johnson of Machesney Park; grandchildren, Katelyn Smith, Danielle Johnson, Derek (Kim) Johnson, Amber (Bobby) Senn and Brittany (Tim) Moisher; great-grandchildren, Abel Charles Riggs Johnson, Libby Moisher, Bryson Senn and Alaina Senn; and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his wife; parents; sisters, Marguerite, Laura, Dorothy and Helen; and brothers, Clarence and Chellis. Service at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 31, in Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd, 1829 North Rockton Ave., Rockford. Burial in Scandinavian Cemetery. Visitation from 5 to 7 p.m., Tuesday, May 30, in Delehanty Funeral Home, Ltd., 401 River Lane, Loves Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the church.
