Charles E. Alberts, 94, of Rockford passed away Thursday, August 23, 2018, surrounded by family, and is with the angels in Heaven. Born June 17, 1924, in Rockford, the son of Charles E. and Marie D. (Kessler) Alberts, Sr. Graduated from St. Thomas High School, Class of 1942. Veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army. Married Rose M. DiVerdi on August 24, 1947, in St. Anthony Catholic Church, Rockford. Employed by BVR, Inc., retiring in January 1990. Member of St. Bridget Catholic Church. Charles was an avid golfer and fisherman. Survivors include his children, Michael (Karen) Alberts, Marilyn (Richard) Bland and Charles (Lou Ann) Alberts III; grandchildren, Mike Alberts, Michelle (Hal) Wirtjes, Patrick (Amber) Alberts and Jennifer (Michael) Sheppard; great-grandchildren, Isabella, Liliana, Gianna, Noah, Sam, Gionni, Sophia, Ayva and Nina. Predeceased by his wife; brother, Raymond; and sister, Evelyn Adams. Special thanks to Alpine Fireside and Heartland Hospice including Teresa and Vicki.

Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, August 30, in St. Bridget Catholic Church, 600 Clifford Ave., Loves Park, with visitation from 9:30 to 10:15 a.m. Burial in Arlington Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established. Arrangements by Delehanty Funeral Home, Ltd., of Loves Park.
