Charlene L. Jones, 90, of Brodhead, WI, went to be with her Lord and Savior, January 12, 2022, surrounded by her family. Born January 5, 1932, in Corning, Arkansas, the oldest daughter of Quentis and Ozella (Dixon) Burns. After they were old enough, Quentis took his two oldest daughters, Charlene and Georgia, to Rockford, Illinois. National Lock had advertised they were looking for workers. Working as an inspector, she met the man of her dreams, when he returned home from the service. In January of 1954, Charlene threw a snowball at Ralph Jones to get his attention and they were married June 26, 1954, in Rockford. They worked together for 30 years before retiring. Their son, Rick, was born on September 4, 1959. Charlene was blessed with two grandsons, Ryan and Aaron. During their childhood, the boys spent their summer days with grandma watching them while Rick was at work. The boys would help grandma collect eggs and feed all the animals, weed the garden and other small tasks to keep their days filled. Charlene loved the Lord, her family, reading her bible and her Louis L'Amour westerns. She also enjoyed gardening, traveling, cooking, and spending time with her family at the lake. Charlene leaves behind her son, Rick (Lisa) Jones; grandsons, Ryan Jones, and Aaron (Ashley) Jones; great-grandchildren, Kaden and Marlee Jones; brothers, Bill (Brenda) Burns, LC (Helen) Burns, and Danny (Pam) Burns; sisters, Diana Fassl and Debbie LaPorchio; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews. Charlene was predeceased by her parents, Quentis and Ozella; husband, Ralph; brothers, Bob and JC; and sister, Georgia.
