Carolyn Jane Singel, 80, of St. Peters, Missouri, formerly of Machesney Park, Illinois, passed away Tuesday, July 13, 2021. Born February 20, 1941, in Rockford, Illinois, the daughter of Isaac and Jane (Anderson) Grender. Graduated from East High School, Class of 1959. Married Melvin Singel on May 14, 1960, in Rockford. Employed by Pierce Chemical, retiring in 2005. Active member of her High School Class Reunion Committee for many years. She was proud of her Norwegian Heritage and was a member of the Sons of Norway. Carolyn enjoyed camping and fishing on the weekends with her family and competed in bowling and softball leagues with her daughters. She loved all kinds of animals. Avid baseball fan, especially a White Sox fan and grew to love the Cardinals after she moved to Missouri. Survivors include her daughters, Kim (Jerry) Boling of Macon, MO, and Denise (Rob) Rogido of St. Peters, MO; grandchildren, Andrew (Morgan) Boling of Lee Summit, MO, and Kelli (Mandy) Boling of Pantego, TX; great-grandchildren, Luke Boling, Logan Boling, Matthew Hennebury and Mason Hennebury; many loving cousins who were like siblings; close friend, Donna Rogido. Predeceased by her parents; husband; and grandsons, Allen Henry and Kody Henry; and several cousins.
Graveside service at 2 p.m. Sunday, July 18, 2021, in Argyle Scottish Cemetery, 8761 Picken Road, Caledonia, Illinois. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Dementia Society of America. Arrangements by Delehanty Funeral Home, Ltd., Loves Park, Illinois.
