Carolyn Head

Carolyn Sue Head, 70, of Bettendorf, IA, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 14, 2023 at Genesis Medical Center in Davenport, IA, surrounded by her family. Born February 28, 1953, in Matthews, Missouri; the daughter of JL and Georgia Bell (Reese) Ergle. She married Gary Bryan Head on November 9, 1968, in St. Louis, Missouri. Employed by Atwood for many years before moving to West Plains, MO, where she worked at Regal Beloit and then eventually retired. She loved spending time with family, living in the country and riding horses.

Survivors include her children, Kevin Head of West Plains, MO, Kimberly (Michael) Meyer of Bettendorf, IA, Kurtis Head of Rockford, IL, and Keith (Shawna) Head of West Plains, MO; step-daughter, Lisa (Keith) Kline of Hatfield, WI; twelve grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; four step-great-grandchildren; four brothers, Jim (Mary) Ergle, Bill (Tina) Ergle, Mike Ergle, and Tommy (Dona) Ergle; four sisters, Linda (Frankie) Hill, Debbie Forsell, Myrtle Bauer, and Barb Hill; many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents; her husband, Gary of 45 years; and two sisters, Betty Utley and Diane Ergle.

Service at noon on Thursday, March 23, 2023, at First Baptist Church, 718 Harlem Road, Machesney Park, IL, with visitation from 10:00 a.m. to service time. Cremation rites accorded. Arrangements by Delehanty Funeral Home, 401 River Lane, Loves Park, IL. In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established.
