Carol Scott

May 9, 1935 — February 4, 2017

Carol J Scott, 81, of Rockford passed away Saturday, February 4, 2017, after a short illness.  Born May 9, 1935, in De Kalb, the daughter of Harold and Marion (Conley) Quarnstrom.  Married Stan Gordon; he predeceased her.  Married David Scott on November 20, 1992, in Rockton.  Employed by Geri’s Hamburger, Stanley’s Diner and most recently Barber-Colman, retiring in 1997.  Member of Bethany Presbyterian Church and Eastern Star.  Carol enjoyed antiquing, gambling, adventures of all kinds, including walking on the bottom of the ocean and skydiving.  At Thanksgiving for 16 years, she took in foreign students and she loved life.  Survivors include her husband; children, Ray (Sherry) Gordon, Dawn (Phil) Maggio, Brian Gordon, Michael Scott and Michele (David) Clark; grandchildren, Hunter, Forrest and Skylar Gordon; Courtney (Ryan) Nell, Whitney (Luke) Roman, Rachel and Kyle Scott, Tiana and Kaden Clark; great-grandson on the way; sister, Mae (Dave) Moore; numerous nieces and nephews; special friends, Ralph and Carol Hoekstra, Shirley Magnuson and her lunch buddies from Barber-Colman and all other friends.  Predeceased by her brothers, Dale and Dean Quarnstrom.

Memorial service at 11 a.m. Wednesday, February 8, in Bethany Presbyterian Church, 5403 N. 2nd Street, Loves Park, with visitation from 10 a.m. to service time. Burial in Sunset Memorial Gardens.  Arrangements by Delehanty Funeral Home, Ltd., Loves Park.
