Carol Marie Muester, 65, of Machesney Park, IL, passed peacefully in her sleep on July 9, 2025, in her home. Carol was born in Prince George, VA, on February 27,1960. She was born to Joseph and Ellen (Blohm) O’Hearn and was the third child of seven. At the age of three, Carol and her family moved to Illinois where she grew up, got married and raised a family. Carol attended Harlem schools, and this is where she met her first husband, Dallas Andrews. Carol and Dallas were married on October 2, 1976, in Rockford, IL. During their marriage they had two daughters, Lynette (Andrews) Castaneda and Priscilla Andrews.
Carol was a stay-at-home mother for many years taking care of her husband and daughters until Dallas and she started a family dry cleaning business in 1988, Royalty Cleaners in Loves Park, IL. From there they purchased two other dry cleaners in the Rockford area. The family business served her family well by providing a good income and opportunities for family camping vacations to Shell Lake and Mills Lake in Wisconsin during the summer.
Carol enjoyed crafts and shopping. She painted a lot while she was a stay-at-home mom and enjoyed diamond art in her later years. She loved sharing her projects and would often give them to those she loved. Carol loved visiting and chatting with friends. She cherished getting together with her siblings. Carol was an avid Bears and Cubs fan, making sure everyone knew when they won a game.
In 2022, Carol was diagnosed with small cell lung cancer. She went through several surgeries due to complications of the cancer being removed. She stayed strong despite all the challenges. In the end she was happy to be at home and enjoyed being surrounded by family.
Carol is survived by her daughters, Lynette (Miguel) Castaneda and Priscilla Andrews; grandchildren, Latashia, Tiana, Carmin, Isabella, Jasmine, Miguel Jr., and Graysi; great-grandson, Milo; siblings, Michael O'Hearn, Roland O'Hearn, Linda (Steve) Smythe, Theresa Cagnoni, Catherine O'Hearn, and Joseph (Lorie) O'Hearn; and several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents; grandparents; first husband, Dallas Andrews; second husband, Erv Muenster; aunts and uncles; as well as a niece and a nephew.
Celebration of Life will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, August 9, 2025, at Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 324 University Drive, Rockford, IL. Cremation rites accorded. Arrangements by Delehanty Funeral Home, 401 River Lane, Loves Park, IL. In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established.
