Carl Edward Lones, 84, of Rockford, IL, passed away on Thursday, November 24, 2022. Born January 27, 1938, in Sweetwater, TN, the son of James and Buelah (Ingram) Lones. Married Patricia Booker. Employed by Rockford Powertrain as an inspector for over 27 years. Carl loved working on old cars, traveling, hunting, fishing, spending time at the lake with family, and doing anything outdoors. Survivors include his son, Alan (Carol) Lones; grandchildren, Kira (Chris) Morrison, Makayla Lones, Alan Lones, Jr., and Theresa Lones. Predeceased by wife; parents; daughter and son-in-law, Paula and Elton Broughton; and his faithful canine companion, Peanut.
Service at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, November 30, 2022, at Delehanty Funeral Home, 401 River Lane, Loves Park, with visitation from 12:30 p.m. to service time. Entombment in Sunset Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established.
