Bruce West

Bruce A. West, 55, of Rockford, passed away Wednesday, December 7, 2016, at home, after a short illness. Born June 9, 1961, in Rockford, the son of Tracy and Rita (Lane) West. Graduated from Harlem High School, Class of 1979. Received his Associate’s degree from Rock Valley College. Veteran of the U.S. Navy Reserves. Married Susanne (Murray) Lee. Previously employed by R.J. Link Mfg. and for the past three years as a quality assurance engineer with G.E Aviation. Member of Firstborn Ministries. Bruce loved spending time with his granddaughter and golfing. His passion was music and playing guitars. Avid Oakland Raider fan. Survivors include his wife, Susanne; daughter, Brittany West; stepdaughters, Amber Murray and Erica Lee; granddaughters, Emeilla West, Elizabeth and Victoria Murray; mother, Rita; brothers, Gary (Ching), Kerry “Butch” (Margaret), David (Kathy) and Mark (Missie) West; sister, Georgia (Danny) Swisher; father and mother-in-law, Don (Dolly) Cain; several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his father and one brother, Tracy West, III.

Service at noon Thursday, December 15, in Firstborn Ministries, 8213 North Alpine Road, Loves Park. Visitation from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, December 14, at Delehanty Funeral Home, Ltd., 401 River Lane, Loves Park.
