Brad Edward Anderson, 69, of Roscoe passed away Wednesday, September 19, 2018, after a five-year battle with prostate cancer. Born April 10, 1949, in Rockford, the son of Edward W. and Hazel J. (Heacock) Anderson. Brad graduated from Harlem High School in 1967, and Carthage College in 1971. He was employed in the banking industry for almost 40 years. Brad began his career with the First National Bank & Trust Co. in 1971, worked at the First Bank of Loves Park from 1974-1993, and retired from the Alpine Bank & Trust Co. in 2010. He worked in a variety of positions during his career including President of the First Bank of Loves Park, the First Bank of Roscoe, and The Belvidere National Bank and Trust Co. He was fortunate to work with many wonderful people along the way. He served on numerous board of directors with local nonprofit organizations. Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Ellen; children, Marc (Dr. Sara) Anderson and Julie Anderson; grandchildren, Ellie, Lucy, Garrett and Sophie, all of whom he was very, very proud and caused him to smile a great deal; sisters, Leigh Ann (David) Heidemann and Wendy (Al) Hollenberger; and several nephews.
Brad’s remains were cremated and pursuant to his wishes, a celebration of life will take place from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, September 28, at Forest Hills Country Club, 5135 Forest Hills Road, Rockford.
