Bonnie L. McCullough
Bonnie L. (Jackson) Dixon McCullough, 74, of Machesney Park, IL, was called home Wednesday, August 16, 2023. “Don’t cry for me, be happy, I am.” Born June 29, 1949, in Rockford, IL, the daughter of Joseph and Norma (Fuhrer) Jackson. Attended Harlem High School. Married Warren O. McCullough. Employed as a hairdresser for more than 30 years. Formerly had a daycare for over four years. Bonnie was formerly employed by OSF St. Anthony Medical Center for a few years; Motorola for almost eight years; UDL for over three years; and retired from Lowe’s Distribution after 11 years. She had a food wagon, Bonnie’s Roundup for one season. Member of Concordia Lutheran Church. Bonnie loved being retired and enjoyed crocheting, fishing, baking, and painting. Avid Green Bay Packer fan. Survivors include her son, Troy (Tabby) Dixon; grandchildren, Nic Dixon and Dyllin Dixon; sister-in-law and loving caregivers, Jo (Butch) Thompson; and several other family members. Predeceased by her parents and husband. Bonnie would like to thank her Dr.’s, nurses, extended family, Pat Geiken, and Stephanie Flores, for everyone’s love, care, and support. Until we meet again, I love you all.
Service at 3 p.m. Saturday, August 19, 2023, at Delehanty Funeral Home, 401 River Lane, Loves Park, IL, with visitation from 1:30 p.m. to service time. Entombment service at 11 a.m. Tuesday, August 22, 2023, in Sunset Memorial Gardens, 8800 North Alpine Road, Machesney Park. In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established.
