Bonnie Kay McCann, 83, of Rockton, IL, passed away on Sunday, May 3, 2026. Born on Thursday, October 15, 1942, in Rockford, IL, the daughter of Samuel “Sam” W. and Gladys (Peterson) Moore. Bonnie graduated from Harlem High School, Class of 1960. Throughout her whole education, she was a straight A student. Bonnie continued her education and attended nursing school. However, due to unforeseen circumstances, she was unable to complete the program. She was employed by Lenz Drug Store as a clerk and was formerly employed by Woodward Governor where she met her future husband. She was also formerly employed at Rockford Clutch and Atwood Vacuum. Bonnie married Dennis R. McCann on June 12, 1965, in Loves Park, IL. After her marriage, Bonnie went on to become a pharmacy technician and paralegal. She was a Woman’s Bible study leader for more than 25 years with the community bible study. She was an animal lover, avid reader and a great artist working with soft pastel paints. Bonnie was active throughout her life, walking, golfing and riding her bike. Survivors include her husband, Dennis; daughter, Ginger Moore; grandchildren, Miranda (Matt) Price, Monica (Austin) Bagwell, and Nicholas (Jamie) Coleman; great-grandchildren, Turner Cheek, Layla-Claire Price, Brentley Beck, Sutton Bagwell, Sophie Coleman, and Hattie Coleman; brother, Jack (Denise) Moore; sisters-in-law, Linda McCann-Williams-Zinnecker, and Marilyn McCann; nephews, Derrick Moore, and Jacob Moore. Predeceased by her parents; and daughter, Julie McCann.
Memorial service at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 16, 2026, at Third Presbyterian Church, 1221 Custer Ave., Rockford, IL, with memorial visitation from 10 a.m. to service time. Cremation rites accorded. Arrangements by Delehanty Funeral Home, 401 River Lane, Loves Park, IL.
