Billy Farmer

Billy W. Farmer, 79, of Rockford, passed away Saturday, September 2, 2017. Born November 13, 1937, in Whitwell, TN, the son of Woodrow and Odell (Layne) Farmer.  Veteran of the U.S. Army.  Husband of Joyce Thistle.  Owner and operator of Farmer’s Oil gas station for over 40 years.  Billy loved his grandchildren.  He enjoyed going to the horse track, going to garage sales and was always known for making a deal.  Survivors include daughter, Tammi (Tyler) Mason; son, Jeremy (Michelle Dale) Farmer; granddaughters, Alexa Kay Meyer and Rylee Kristine Farmer; siblings, Rick (Faith) Farmer, Charlie (Sandy) Farmer, Fay (Stan) Bell, Jack (Nancy) Farmer, Vonda (J.R.) Goss, and Ruby Holderbaum; and numerous nieces and nephews.  Predeceased by parents; brother, Carl David Farmer; and sisters, Sharon Farmer and Kay Dunn.

Celebration of Life at 2 p.m. Saturday, September 23, at the VFW, 922 7th Street, Rockford. Coffee and cookies will be provided.  If you would like, please feel free to bring a dish to pass.  Arrangements by Delehanty Funeral Home, Ltd., 401 River Lane, Loves Park.
