Bill R. Scott, 70, of Machesney Park passed away peacefully Sunday, February 26, 2017, in his home. Born June 1, 1946, in Iuka, IL, the son of Curt and Eva (Gordon) Scott. Married Sherry Stayner on May 29, 1986, in Rockford. Current owner and operator Vic and Jim’s Tap in Loves Park and was formerly a Teamster truck driver. Member of the Loves Park Masonic Lodge. Bill was a local racing enthusiast who owned and sponsored various cars throughout the years. He loved spending time with his family, especially his granddaughters. Survivors include wife, Sherry; sons, Billy (Lisa) Scott of Salem and Justin Scott of Tyler, TX; granddaughters, Lacey Scott-Roberts, Sydnee A. Phillips and Natilyn Scott; aunt, Lola Mae Woodward; brother, Danny Scott; sisters, Linda Rush, Virginia Adams, Betty Kile, Peggy Flood, Debbie Price and Lesa Crouse; and numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by parents and three brothers, Kenneth, Larry and Jim.
Service at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday February 28, in Delehanty Funeral Home, Ltd., 401 River Lane, Loves Park, with visitation from 10 a.m. to service time. Burial in Argyle Scottish Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials to OSF Hospice or the Shriner’s Hospital.
