Beverly Gibbons

Beverly Jean Gibbons, 87, of Rockford passed away Thursday, May 11, 2017, at Pinecrest Community, Mount Morris, Illinois. Born June 28, 1929, in Rockford, the daughter of Louis and Lucille (Walters) Capriola.  She was a graduate of Rockford West High School and spent most of her adult life in Rockford.  Her happiest times were having all her family together for holidays, birthdays and cookouts.  She always put family and friends first before herself, and she always wanted to know if everyone was happy and safe.  Her last years were spent at Pinecrest making the staff laugh with her jokes and comments. She was affectionately known as “Grandma” there and we were happy to share her with the staff.  On behalf of the family, we would like to thank everyone at Pinecrest for the quality of care she received during her stay and especially the kindness she and the family received during the final days of her life.  She is survived by her daughter, Sharon Montana; sons, Dale M. Szuminski and William Gibbons; and grandchildren, Samuel Montana, Zachary and Brady Szuminski and Kayla Gibbons.  She was predeceased by her sister, Camila Petit and brother, William Capriola.

Private services for the family and arrangements were held by Delehanty Funeral Home, Ltd., 401 River Lane, Loves Park. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been set up in Beverly’s name at Pinecrest Community Memory Terrace, 414 S. Wesley Ave., Mt. Morris, IL 61054.
