Beverly Jean Frank, 80, of Roscoe, IL, passed away on Saturday, January 20, 2024, in her home, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born Beverly Jean Jacobson on May 13, 1943, in Black River Falls, WI, the daughter of Clarence and Gladys (Skoyen) Jacobson. There she lived with her parents, her brother Allan, her brother James, and eventually her sister Barbara on a farm in rural Hixton, WI. She married Merlin Frank on August 25, 1962. She ran a volunteer tutoring program in the Harlem School District which won the Those Who Excel award for Illinois. She also contributed a chapter on her tutoring program to a textbook on childhood education. Beverly was active in her church, Christ Lutheran, where she served on the council. She also enjoyed reading, gardening, having coffee and playing scrabble with friends, taking care of her cat, and spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchild. It was said that she could never cook for less than a crowd! She is survived by her children, Daniel (Lea Ann) Frank, Steven (Kathy) Frank, Christopher (Dawn) Frank, and Kathryn (Douglas) Arnold; as well as 10 grandchildren; and a great-grandson.
