Beverly J. Armstrong, 87, of Loves Park passed away peacefully Thursday, February 2, 2017, surrounded by her family. Born October 10, 1929, in Chili, WI, the daughter of Harold and Ethel (Hopp) O'Dell. Married Robert Armstrong on July 3, 1948, in Roscoe. Formerly employed by Rockford Dry Goods for many years. Employed as a bus driver by the Harlem School District for 17 years, retiring in 1996. Member of Roscoe United Methodist Church, Royal Neighbors and Loves Park Women’s Club. She enjoyed winters in Texas, bowling, traveling and attending her grandkids sporting and music events. Survivors include her husband, Robert; children, Bob (Delores) Armstrong of Machesney Park, Don Armstrong of Roscoe, Carol (Steve) Heck of Rockford and Gary (Patricia) Armstrong of West Palm Beach, Florida; grandchildren, Bobby (Angela) Armstrong, Matthew (Natalie) Armstrong, Drew Armstrong, Jordan Heck, Nicole Armstrong, Jarrett Heck, Nicholas Armstrong and Mark Armstrong; great-grandchildren, Lillian and Harrison; brothers, Ronald (Darlene) O’Dell of Roscoe, Kenneth (Paula) O’Dell of Roscoe, Doug O’Dell of Rockton and Randy (Joanne) O’Dell of Texas; numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by daughter-in-law, Valerie Armstrong; 2 sisters; and 3 brothers.
Service at 11 a.m., Thursday, February 9, in Delehanty Funeral Home, Ltd., 401 River Lane, Loves Park, with visitation from 10 a.m. to service time. Burial in Sunset Memorial Gardens.
