Betty Sundberg

Betty L. Sundberg of Loves Park passed away Friday, March 10, 2017. She was born on June 6, 1935, in Rockford, the daughter of John and Mildred (Bower) Smith. Betty worked 36 years for Barber-Colman Co., retiring November, 1998. She loved being a grandmother and being called Grandma was the delight of her day. Betty enjoyed working in her yard, and gardening was a big part of her life. She loved to play cards and belonged to several card clubs. Going to garage sales was another thing that topped her list. She enjoyed activities at the Park Tower including Wii bowling, dominoes, poker and celebrating holidays. Survivors include her daughter, Vicki (Don) Kuhn; son, Greg Sundberg; grandchildren, Jeremy Kuhn, Greg Sundberg Jr. and Abby Sundberg; brother, Bob Smith; numerous nieces, nephews and many special friends.

Visitation will be from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Saturday, March 18, in Delehanty Funeral Home, Ltd., 401 River Lane, Loves Park, with a special service to follow at 3:30 p.m. Betty will go to her final residing place during a private ceremony at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please direct memorials to St. Jude Children’s Hospital in Betty’s name.
