Betty J. Larson, 93, of Rockford joined her Heavenly Father Saturday, October 16, 2021. Born January 22, 1928, in Rockford, the daughter of Lace M. and Lucille R. (Folio) Johnson. Married her high school sweetheart, the love of her life, Gerald L. Larson. They were married for 61 beautiful years. She worked beside her husband for many years as a bookkeeper at Larson Food Center. Member of Holy Family Catholic Church and a faithful volunteer at the Holy Family Adoration Chapel. Member of the Harlem High School, Class of 1946, Ladies Alumni Luncheon Group. She also volunteered at Rockford Memorial Hospital as a Pink Lady. Betty loved spending time with her beloved and caring daughter. She enjoyed shopping, traveling, playing the slots, playing Tripoli and other games with her family. Betty loved cooking special dishes for the holidays with her family and cooking Thanksgiving dinner with her favorite niece. Betty is survived by her most treasured legacy, her family, her daughter, Sheri (Michael) Deinslake; many grandchildren; brother, Lace Johnson, Jr.; sisters, Carole Johnson, and Mary Linda Johnson; a very special niece, Jennifer (Curtis) Scribner; nieces, Stephanie Jones, Julie Stone, Diane (Tom) Kisting, Sally (Pat) Roscoe, and Marsha Stanley; nephews, Jeff (Cindy) Johnson and Jim (Noi) Johnson; many loving great- nieces and great-nephews; precious great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews; and loving canine companion, AJ. Predeceased by her parents; husband; beloved infant daughter, Carrie Lynn Larson; and brother, William T. Johnson.
Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. Monday, October 25, 2021, in Holy Family Catholic Church, 4401 Highcrest Road, Rockford, with visitation from 10 a.m. to service time. Burial in Scandinavian Cemetery. Arrangements by Delehanty Funeral Home, Ltd., 401 River Lane, Loves Park. Memorials to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or Poor Clare's.
