Betty Lou Henley, 90, of Rockford, Illinois, passed away Thursday, December 17, 2020, in her home surrounded by her loving family. Born March 7, 1930, in Rockford, the daughter of Gordon R. and Judith (Anderson) Carlson. Married the love of her life, Keith D. Henley, in 1956. Betty loved to travel, play cards, take art classes, attend concerts, go to local festivals and art walks, and was an active volunteer in her community. She was just delightful. Betty's family and friends will dearly miss her kind heart, sense of humor, warm and accepting nature, and endless curiosity about everything under the sun. Survivors include her children, Beth A. (Milton) Bell, James K. (Lori) Henley, and Jeffrey G. (Celia) Henley; grandchildren, Zachary (Ashley) Bell, Austin Bell, Abby Bell, Elisabeth Henley, and Emily Henley; and great-grandson, Zachary Keith “Zeeky” Bell; dear nephews and nieces; brother-in-law, Bill; and many dear friends. Predeceased by her parents; husband; sister, Roberta; her in-laws, Charles and Iris Henley; and several dear friends. Betty's family would like to thank Heartland Hospice for their professional care and gentle guidance in her final days.
