Betty Carpenter

Betty Lois Carpenter, 92, of Machesney Park passed away Thursday, August 10, 2017, in Lincolnshire Place, Loves Park. Born October 17, 1924, in Rockford, the daughter of Hughling D. and Lois K. (Thompson) Stanley.  Married Robert Edwin Carpenter on October 22, 1945.  Employed as a regional manager for Vanda Beauty Counselor Cosmetics.  Member of Harlem United Methodist Church.  Active in the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary.  Survivors include her children, Douglas Carpenter, Cindi (Keith) Irons, Bradley (Pat) Carpenter and Debi (Randy) Schaefer; 6 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren.  Predeceased by her parents and husband.

Graveside service at 10 a.m. Monday, August 14, in Sunset Memorial Gardens, 8800 North Alpine Road, Machesney Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Transitions Hospice.  Arrangements by Delehanty Funeral Home, Ltd., of Loves Park.
