Betty Ann Bowes
Betty Ann Bowes, 88, of Loves Park, passed away Friday, September 30, 2022, in her home. Born May 18, 1934, in Rockford, the daughter of Kenneth and Helen (Holby) Bordner. Married Ronald J. Bowes, Sr., on May 2, 1953, in St. James Catholic Church. Employed as an LPN at St. Anne Center in Rockford. Longtime member of St. Bridget Catholic Church. Betty enjoyed baking, knitting, doing puzzles, and was a member of the Red Hat Society. Survivors include her children, Ron (Bonnie) Bowes, Kristine (John) Gibson, Terri Luke, Beth (Bill) McGuire, and Brian Bowes; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. Predeceased by her husband, Ron; daughter, Kathy Chitwood; and grandson, Matthew Luke. Special thanks to Transitions Hospice, especially Larry, Anna, Dakota, and Mandi, for their loving care; Andrew from Meals on Wheels; and neighbors, Mike Falzone, and Marcia and Joe Mayberry.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, October 5, 2022, in St. Bridget Catholic Church, 600 Clifford Ave., Loves Park, with visitation from noon to service time. Burial in Sunset Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established.
