Betty Wright Beier

Betty June (Somogyi – O’Donnell) Wright Beier, 95, of Rochester, Minnesota, formerly of the Rockford, Illinois, area passed away Monday, August 16, 2021, in her home.  Born December 18, 1925, in Peoria, the daughter of Charles and Jessie (Doyle) Somogyi.  Graduated from Harlem High School, Class of 1944.  Married the love of her life, Richard H. Wright, Jr., on August 24, 1946, in the Little Brown Church in the Vale in Nashua, Iowa; he passed away April 15, 1971.  She then married George R. Beier in September of 1974; he passed away in May of 1984.  Betty loved dancing, reading, and working in her flower garden.  Family was most important to Betty, especially being a grandmother.  Survivors include her daughter, Regina L. (Jim Blank) Wright; son, Randall “Randy” S. (Jan) Wright; grandchildren, Danielle (Macks) Wright Ortiz, Brittany (Juan) Wright, and Trina (Roger) Hughes; great-grandchildren, Josh, Brannon, Caleb, Liam and Naomi; sister, Wilma Dickinson; brother-in-law, Lace Johnson; several nieces and nephews.  Predeceased by her parents; husbands; her siblings, Charles K. Somogyi, Ray W. Somogyi, Jessie Johnson, and Robert O’Donnell.

Private family graveside services will be in Scandinavian Cemetery, Rockford.  Arrangements by Delehanty Funeral Home, Ltd., 401 River Lane, Loves Park, Illinois.  In lieu of flowers, memorials to a charity of your choice.
