Bertha “Bert” Geneva Jackson, 86, of Machesney Park passed away Sunday, July 3, 2022, in her home. Born May 25, 1936, in Cardwell, MO, the daughter of Dewey and Mary E. (Denton) Lasley. Married Howard W. Jackson on August 8, 1972, in Rockford. Employed by Rockford Spring, retiring in 1999. Active in Navy Mother’s Association. Bert donated over 800 handmade quilts to VA’s and nursing homes. Survivors include son, Rick Wallis; stepdaughters, Diana (Rayford) Sacrider and Deborah (Danny) Griffis; stepsons, Dale (Debra) Jackson and Dennis (Penny) Jackson; grandchildren, Renee Sacrider, Jeremy (Jillian), Shane (Heidi) and Nick (Leigh Ann) Jackson, and Jacob (Crystal) Reininger; numerous great-grandchildren including, Julia, Jenna, Brayden, Alana, Cole, Addison, and Elizabeth; and brother, Jerry Lasley. Predeceased by parents; sister, Lily Mayborne; and brothers, Merle Lasley and James Lasley.
Service at 11 a.m. Monday, July 18, 2022, in Delehanty Funeral Home, 401 River Lane, Loves Park, with visitation from 10 a.m. to service time. Burial in Sunset Memorial Gardens.
