Bernard “Bernie” P. DeNolf, 82, of Loves Park passed away Monday, February 20, 2017. Born October 12, 1934, in Rockford, the son of Albert and Elizabeth (DeWert) Denolf. Graduated from St. Thomas High School, Class of 1952. Veteran of the Korean Conflict, serving in the U.S. Army where he was stationed in Germany. Married Karen M. Kaplenk on June 6, 1964, in St. Bridget Catholic Church, Loves Park. Employed by Ackerman Shoes. Member of St. Bridget Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus and Charismatic Prayer Meeting. He loved dancing, biking, music, pro wrestling, laughter and always had a joke. Survivors include his daughters, Kristine DeNolf, Bridget (Bryan) McWilliams and Kathleen (Kyle Brewer) DeNolf; sons, Brian (Anita Hunt) DeNolf and Kevin (Karen) DeNolf; grandchildren, Ethan, Ashton, Tristan, Vincent, Danielle, Addyson and Kirsten. Predeceased by his wife; parents; and granddaughter, Courtney Lindstrom.
Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. Saturday, February 25, in St. Bridget Catholic Church, 600 Clifford Ave., Loves Park, with visitation from 9 a.m. to service time. Burial in Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Visitation also from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, February 24, in Delehanty Funeral Home, Ltd., 401 River Lane, Loves Park, with Rosary recited at 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established.
