Barbara “Barb” Anne Timm

Barbara "Barb” Anne Timm, 85, of Rockford, IL, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family on Friday, October 7, 2022. Born on April 27, 1937, in Mendota, IL, the daughter of Daniel and Genevieve (Stanard) Schmidt. Graduated from Mendota High School, Class of 1955. Attended Iowa State University. Barb married Bill Timm on September 12, 1959, celebrating 63 years together this year. Barb first worked at Rockford Day Nursery School and later, she and Bill, along with her brother and sister-in-law, Howard and Ginny Schmidt, were co-owners of Hultberg’s Gift Shop for over 10 years, catering to several weddings, anniversaries, and special occasions. She was a member of the Pink Ladies of OSF. As a parishioner of the Cathedral of St. Peter, Barb was a member of the St. Anne Society and a dedicated volunteer. She would often decorate the church with seasonal flowers. Barb leaves behind her daughters, Nina (Ben) and Connie (Tom); grandsons, Michael and Mark Murphy; sister-in-law, Ginny Schmidt; and several nephews and nieces. She is preceded in death by her parents, Daniel and Genevieve; husband, Bill Timm; brother, Howard Schmidt; and brother and sister-in-law, John and Lori Timm.

Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. Friday, October 14, 2022, at Cathedral of St. Peter, 1243 North Church Street, Rockford, with visitation from 9 to 10 a.m. Interment to follow in Calvary Catholic Cemetery, Winnebago, IL. A Celebration of Life will be held Thursday, October 13, 2022, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Venetian Club, 2180 Elmwood Road, Rockford, IL 61103. Arrangements by Delehanty Funeral Home, Loves Park, IL. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Corpus Christi Monastery of the Poor Clare Colettine Nuns.
